Packers head coach Mike McCarthy addressed the media today and several topics seem to be on the minds of many in Packernation. First and foremost is the injury that forced Bryan Bulaga out of practice yesterday. Reported as an MCL injury, the trainers are still evaluating him but he will be OUT for Sunday night’s game.
Datone Jones looks good according to coach and it sounds like the Packers might get Morgan Burnett back from his calf injury though he was still limited in practice.
Coach McCarthy said that he though the team practiced better this week than they did last week and that is a positive. They will need to play a better game than they did against the Bears particularly on defense. And is it just me or does Bryan Bulaga going out give the rest of you a shudder and a little twinge of deja vu…all over again.
Regardless…Go Pack!
Definitely feels like deja vu. Bulaga can’t be counted on to stay healthy and Barclay (the only other player on active roster listed as tackle) doesn’t look capable of filling the role either. Oh, but he played much better after giving up 4 sacks (sarcasm). Who’s left? Walker, Taylor, and Tretter are listed as guards. Vujnovich is only OT on practice squad. Rodgers is at serious risk. And we’re extremely thin at ILB, with Matthews’ injury history… I’m very nervous and too old for this drama! Go Pack go!
Have to say that I’m very happy that I was wrong about Barclay. He played an excellent game in relief of Bulaga. Kudos to Don!
