CLICK to Say Googbye to B.J.

GREEN BAY, WI - JANUARY 05: B.J. Raji #90 of the Green Bay Packers celebrates a incomplete pass by the San Francisco 49ers in the first quarter during their NFC Wild Card Playoff game at Lambeau Field on January 5, 2014 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)

Packers defensive tackle B.J Raji is retiring from football according to Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

There were reports that the Panthers may have been interested in Raji, who will turn 30 this offseason.

But the Packers seem to have known what was going on. They started covering themselves by hanging onto free agent Letroy Guion this offseason.  The retirement means the Packers could be looking elsewhere with the 27th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Comment below to say goodbye to BJ Raji…and…

Stay tuned…this offseason just got more interesting!

Go Pack!

I can only assume since I the first to comment to my own post, there is little chance anyone, let alone BJ Raji will ever read this. However, I am compelled to post this reply for the record and to officially say, I am sorry. When I originally replied to this, I had no idea of the troubles BJ is facing and was simply making an attempt at being sarcastic. Had I known then what I know now, my comment would have been entirely different, and would have gone something like this.

We all have mothers, and any son who is willing to surrender what has been a tremendous and promising career for her and her sister, was raised by one hell of a mom. Best of luck to you sir, off the field, and if ever possible again, on.

After reading the story about how his heart was no longer in it and the health issues going on with his mom and other family members, I find his decision to be very respectful and honest to himself. Money doesn’t create happiness, and it’s enlightening to see him be true to himself. Good luck in your future endeavors B.J. We’ll miss you 💚💛💚💛
