Jordy Lost for Season

Jordy Nelson 2015Word is just now coming out that Jordy Nelson has been lost for the 2015 season. Packernation will be in shock and disbelief for awhile but this is not without precedent for the Packers. In 1996, the Packers lost Robert Brooks and were able to get the job done. The Packers have not disclosed the exact nature of the injury, which presumably is an ACL with the possibility of other damage (MCL, PCL, meniscus) but whatever the injury is, he will need more time than the 2015 season can offer to get healthy again.

Packernation was looking forward to the devastating duo of Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb to take the field again this year and with them to watch Davante Adams have an improved year. Now, the lineup requires some shuffling but the Packers have depth though they have little experience beyond Adams.

The Packers will have to find ways to build the confidence of young receivers like Jeff Janis and Ty Montgomery not just in the preseason, but also moving into the early part of the 2015 year. If they can manage these guys and get them experience without exposure, we still will have an uber-offense. Myles White is another guy who is already familiar with the system and could become and important cog as the other guys have been up and down in the preseason.

Regardless, this is the game of football and the best teams come to play no matter what. Packer football has been through all this before and this team will have a chance to show its mettle with the loss of Nelson. Vince Lombardi would not let the loss of a star wide receiver become an excuse for mediocrity, neither will Mike McCarthy, and neither should Packernation. So let’s get behind our team, they need us now more than ever! And while we’re at it…let’s wish Jordy a big “Get well soon!” as he recovers from disappointment as well as the knee injury. Give him your best in the comments below or back on the Facebook Fanpage.

Go Pack!

Jordy — our prayer as people of faith is that our gracious God will guide all of the skilled medical personnel through your surgery and rehab. You are such a model and example for us all. We know that you will continue to have a tremendous impact on the success of your teammates for this 2015 season. May our Lord give strength and comfort to your precious wife and entire family in the days to follow. Bruce & Judy K.

N.O. Saints have 5 good TE’s. Anyone that follows football, hard, knows Coach Sean Payton loves his TE’s to be a key part of offense. We need to trade for one this season although replacing Jordy is a huge task, I think the cheesehead nation will be satisfied by any one of the TE’s the saints have.
