McCarthy Addresses the Media: Good News About Vince Biegel

Mike McCarthy addressed the media today as the rookies got started on their orientation. Of course, everyone wants to know how Vince Biegel is…Here are the highpoints.

On Biegel and the injuries in general:

“We had nothing major happen today and Vince’s is minor in nature.”

On Orientation in General:

Coach McCarthy fielded question on the class itself. “It takes awhile to get a feel for any class but it’s a special group of men”, The Packers’ head coach explained. “With this rookie orientation camp there is always a number of things to accomplish, namely how to practice the Green Bay Packer way. The energy that these guys bring to the table is remarkable. There was a ton of energy. Some guys cramping. But the work was good.”

When asked what McCarthy was looking for out of the rookies, he explained that they are scrutinized in every way:

  • what they are like in meetings
  • the way they interact
  • what were they like getting off the plane
  • how they interacted in the cafeteria
  • how they interact on the practice field

When asked whether guys like Vince Biegel need special attention to offset the expectations as former Badger players, McCarthy said: “Vince was the first one here, he sat in the front row…I think he is going to be fine.”
