Lee Remmel 2Bad news came out for Packernation on Thursday. Lee Remmel has passed away at the age of 90.

Remmel was a Packers front office fixture since 1974 and also led the franchise’s public relations and publicity efforts until 2004, when he became the Packers team historian. Before that, Remmel was a writer and columnist for the Press-Gazette for nearly 30 years.

Hailing from Shawano, Wisconsin, Remmel was Wisconsin’s “Sports Writer of the Year” in 1967. Remmel was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame on March 30, 1996 and the Packers honored him in 2003 by naming a press box at the redeveloped Lambeau Field after him.

Packernation mourns the loss and at the same time celebrates the life of one of the greatest historians and fans of the Green Bay Packers. Click below to give your regards.
