In 2010, the Packers avenged a past heartbreaking playoff defeat, got even for a close regular season loss over a team it was much better than, won the rubber match with a division rival and atoned for Super Bowl XXXII with its own Super Bowl victory.

Cobb Instrumental to Packers’ Success in San Francisco

San Francisco 49ers v Green Bay PackersIn Week 1 of the 2012 season, the Green Bay Packers unveiled Randall Cobb as their all-purpose weapon. It worked in the 30-22 loss to the 49ers, to the tune of a team-leading nine catches.

He was their version of Percy Harvin; being used out of the backfield, the slot position and out wide. And to a degree, he was going to be the X-factor that Darren Sproles is to the New Orleans offense. Remember that Sproles guy had 15 catches for 116 yards in the 49ers playoff win over the Saints last January.

Packers Need to Re-establish Lambeau Postseason Dominance

imageIn the playoffs on the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field, the Green Bay Packers used to be automatic at home. In their first 13 home playoff games, the Packers were victorious. Teams used to fear coming to Green Bay and having to win in the Wisconsin winter.

However, the confines are friendlier for the visitors now than they are for the Packers. Since 2002, the Packers are just 2-4 in home playoff games. The home winning streak was snapped 10 years ago on a Saturday night in the Wild Card round when the Atlanta Falcons came into Lambeau and had a dominant 27-7 win.
