I was sitting at my desk at work today, trying to catch up with some office work. I was peeking at Twitter periodically, and I came across news that Bryan Bulaga is getting work at Left Guard.
"@packers: Bulaga is working as a backup LG."
Work stopped for a few minutes after reading this. As I let this sink into my brain, I had to wonder a few things:
Why is he being moved from Left Tackle, the position he was drafted for?
What happened to Daryn Colledge and Jason Spitz? Are they performing that poorly, or did one of them suddenly become trade bait?
It’s an obvious fact that rookies are not frequently called upon to make big impacts in their first season in the NFL. This is especially true for the Packers, who sometimes enjoy drafting “projects” and then developing them in their system before they start contributing. Typically, draft picks are given at least a year before they’re expected to become difference-makers. Two Packer draft picks may have to grow up a lot quicker than most do.
It might be a smart idea for second and third-round picks, Mike Neal and Morgan Burnett respectively, to start probing second-year starter Clay Matthews with questions about how best to make a quick transition to the pros. Matthews was thrown into the fire last season when the Packers were in dire need of a pass rusher to pair with Aaron Kampman. For different reasons, Neal and Burnett will be rushed into the gameday action this season.

I guess you can call them highlights. Sure give us a taste of the coming season.
I think, in addition to playing very vanilla on defense in order to not tip his hand, Capers was also trying to ensure that his players won't get hurt.
